Reflection-Mode Ultrasound Computed Tomography
Based on Wavelet Processing for High-Contrast
Anatomical and Morphometric Imaging

This paper explores the use of B-mode ultrasound for examining children's limbs, focusing on bone imaging. While effective for soft tissue, bone imaging challenges ultrasonic wave propagation, reducing the contrast-to-noise ratio. To address this, we developed a wavelet-based coded excitation (WCE) method for enhanced reflection-mode ultrasound computed tomography (USCT). Our study aims to improve low-intensity USCT for better organ morphometry. Experimental results on a newborn arm phantom and an ex vivo chicken drumstick demonstrate the method's effectiveness.
